Councillor Profiles

Graham Barnett Graham Barnett – Graham lives on Manor Road.  He worked in television production and is an active trade unionist.  Now retired Graham wanted to become a Parish Councillor so he can work to improve the local area.
Sue Bean Sue Bean – Sue has lived on Somerset Drive for 17 years.  She has recently retired as a Community Education Tutor and uses her free time to serve the local community. Sue is a very strong supporter of the NHS and has been instrumental with projects to improve health and well-being including the Brimington Open Gardens Competition and the re-launching the Tuesday Lunch at the Community Centre. She has also been appointed president of the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils.
Andy Bellamy Andy Bellamy – Andy has been a Parish Councillor and a Chesterfield Borough Councillor since 2011.  Andy actively pursues residents complaints, especially speeding on Manor Road and Wikeley Way.  A former college lecturer Andy is a keen supported of Labour’s plans to increase apprenticeships for young people.

Ian Callan Ian Callan – Ian has been a Parish Councillor for 12 years and a Borough Councillor since 2011.  As well as being a governor at Manor Infant School he is a member of the Village Circle Committee and Brimington Allotment Society.
Peter Cawthorne Peter Cawthorne – Peter has served on the Parish Council for 20 years.  He is well known in the village as a School Crossing Patrol Officer and he is a governor a Henry Bradley and Brimington Junior Schools.  He is trying to resolve the parking issues outside the schools.
Dave Culley Dave Culley – Dave worked at Markham Colliery and is now retired.  He is Chair of the Brimington Allotment Society.  Dave enjoys organising the Annual Flower and Produce Show at the Community Centre and as Parish Councillor hopes to get involved in other projects that benefit local people.
John Haywood John Haywood – John has been a very active Parish Councillor for the South Ward for many years.  He is a governor at both Manor Infant and Brimington Junior Schools.  He has campaigned to slow down traffic on Manor Road and got more “Pick up or Pay” signs painted around the village to address dog fouling.

Stuart Yates Stuart Yates – Stuart has been a Parish Councillor for 8 years.  He runs a successful business so he offers this valuable prospective to Parish Council discussions.  Stuart is an active parent of teenagers and is a governor at Manor Infant School.
